Discover Zungri

Set off on a journey through nature, history, and authentic flavors: Zungri, a charming village on Monte Poro located at 554 meters above sea level, awaits you with its breathtaking views and the famous rock settlement known as the Grotte di Zungri.

Visit to the Valle dei Mulini

The Valle dei Mulini, located in Sorianello in the province of Vibo Valentia, is an enchanting place that blends nature, history, and spirituality.

This valley is home to ancient water mills dating back to the 18th century, once used for grinding grain. Although no longer operational, they remain a precious testimony to Calabrian tradition.

The landscape is crossed by the Cornacchia stream, which feeds an artificial lake surrounded by the ruins of ancient Basilian monastic settlements. On its shores stands the Church of San Bruno, next to a centuries?old olive tree tied to the saint’s legend.

It is an ideal place for nature lovers, with trails immersed in greenery winding through lush forests and pristine landscapes. The paths vary in length and difficulty, making them accessible to both experienced hikers and families seeking relaxation and adventure.

The landscape is dominated by beeches, chestnuts, pines, and firs, and is home to rich wildlife including wild boars, foxes, badgers, and many bird species. A perfect environment to immerse yourself in biodiversity and reconnect with nature.

A few kilometers away are the Museum of the Royal Bourbon Ironworks and the Certosa of Serra San Bruno, to complete the experience with art, history, and culture.

A Morning at Musaba in Mammola

Musaba (Santa Barbara Museum) is an open-air museum park located in Mammola, in the province of Reggio Calabria, nestled within the Aspromonte National Park. Created by artists Nik Spatari and Hiske Maas, Musaba is a place where contemporary art and millennial history blend together.

The park covers seven hectares and stands on the remains of an ancient 10th-century Basilian monastery. Inside, the monumental sculptures, mosaics, and artistic installations harmoniously integrate with the surrounding nature, creating a unique and evocative atmosphere.

Among the most famous works is “The Dream of Jacob”, a monumental mosaic decorating the ceiling of the restored church, considered the “Sistine Chapel of Calabria.” Other significant installations include “Universal Concept”, a sculpture visible throughout the valley, and “Evening Shadow”, a 15-meter-high human figure welcoming visitors at the park’s entrance.
